Nigerian content creator and online streamer, Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, was reportedly kidnapped by unidentified gunmen during a livestream on Wednesday night.
In clips from the live broadcast, Peller could be heard saying: “You dey carry gun, Ogun wan kill you? Calm down jor. Na who you come dey point gun for?”
One of the kidnappers replied: “Na me you dey follow me the tok like that? I say make you calm down, you dey follow me dey tok anyhow.”
Background voices after the heated exchange suggested that Peller and the gunmen were struggling.
Shortly after, someone present at the scene revealed that the gunmen had taken Peller away to an undisclosed location.
The attackers’ faces were not shown in the footage.
The incident has since stirred mixed reactions across social media, while some doubt the authenticity of the abduction and suspect it might be a skit, others have raised serious concerns for Peller’s safety.
