Fresh Exhumations Uncover New Cult Deaths at Chakama Ranch, Kenya

Exhumations at Chakama Ranch in Kilifi County have been halted to allow for DNA testing after investigators unearthed more than 100 body parts and 34 additional bodies in the ongoing probe into a suspected doomsday cult.

The ranch is barely two kilometers from the site where over 400 bodies were recovered two years ago, tied to controversial preacher Paul Mackenzie, who is still in custody facing murder charges.

According to police, this second round of exhumations comes as former cult members are reportedly regrouping. A multi agency team is now digging into what may have caused these fresh deaths, with 11 suspects already in custody after a woman reported the deaths of her children.

Government pathologists are preparing to carry out autopsies, beginning with X-ray scans, as the investigation widens.

Officials are also tracing money transfers made to the suspects phones, on suspicion that the cult was still secretly receiving financial support.
