Cristiano Ronaldo’s son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, has received his first-ever call-up to Portugal’s Under-16 national team.
The 15 year old, who currently plays for Al-Nassr’s youth side in Saudi Arabia, where his father stars for the senior team, has been named in a 22-man squad for the upcoming Federations Cup Tournament in Turkey.
The competition, set to run from October 30 to November 4, will see Portugal’s U-16s face Turkey, Wales, and England. This marks another milestone in Ronaldo Jr’s development after his earlier inclusion in Portugal’s Under-15 squad in May, a step that keeps alive fans’ hopes of one day seeing him share the field with his legendary father.
Before joining Al-Nassr, Ronaldo Jr also spent time in the youth academies of Juventus and Manchester United, mirroring his father’s own football journey through Europe’s elite clubs.
Cristiano Ronaldo Sr., who debuted for Portugal’s senior team in 2001, holds the world record for both international appearances (223 caps) and goals (143), achievements his son will surely look up to as he begins his own path in international football.
