The Rwanda Amputee Football Association (RAFA) announced that, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Gatsibo District, they visited and provided equipment to Nizeyimana Théoneste, a child with a physical disability who has shown a talent for playing football.This is the message RAFA announced on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, through its X wall.
RAFA says that on October 31, 2025, it visited the child who studies at GS Kiramuruzi, who was recently seen in videos circulating on social media playing football, and his talent is admired by many. Various people, especially football fans, have been touched by his words and continue to advocate for him, and the Ministry of Sports agrees to collaborate with RAFA to do something. Nizeyimana’s dream came true late last month when he was visited by officials from various institutions, who presented him with sports equipment and a wheelchair to help him play, and he is also looking for a prosthetic leg.
RAFA announced that the child will also be helped to study in a place that will help him further develop his talent. To help him achieve his dream, RAFA announced that Nizeyimana Théoneste will participate in the Rwandan Paralympic Championship, which will be held in Kigali on November 22, 2025.
The child told officials that he has a dream of watching the APR FC and Rayon Sports match and they agreed to give him a gift.
RAFA continued, “His dream of watching the APR FC and Rayon Sports FC match at Stade Amahoro will come true on Saturday when he will come to watch the ‘derby’.”
The Rwanda Amputee Football Association thanked everyone who volunteered to help this child find help and support his talent.
