The Nigerian Police Command has reported that on November 5, 2025, at around 5 pm, Victoria Ebunoha Chukwumezie, 40, from Nyanya, Abuja, was spotted at Diko junction with three children suspected to have been abducted for human trafficking.

According to the police spokesman, SP Wasiu Abiodun, officers from the local division stationed at Diko junction swiftly arrested the suspect. During questioning, she revealed that she had taken the children, aged 2 to 3 years, from Lambata and was transporting them to Abuja for care.

The children have been identified as Kazeem, 3, Ya’amadu, 2, and Idris, 2. Their parents have already been contacted, and an investigation is ongoing.

In a separate incident, SP Abiodun disclosed that on November 3, around 10 am, a patrol team apprehended 21-year-old Favour Udeaja at Old City Gate, Minna, with a motorcycle. The suspect failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for his actions.

Investigation revealed that he had stolen the motorcycle from a student’s lodge in Bida, removed the number plate, and brought it to Minna intending to sell it. He remains in police custody for further inquiry and will face prosecution in court.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that over 16 community members were kidnapped by armed bandits in Sabo village, Murai ward of Talata Mafara Local Government Area, Zamfara State. Local vigilantes attempted to repel the attackers, but the assailants overpowered them due to their large numbers.

The kidnapped victims include women, children, and the elderly, and authorities are still working to locate the remaining individuals.

One villager, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Sado, shared that his friend Nasiru and his wife were among those abducted. The rising wave of kidnappings has sparked fear and calls for increased security measures across affected communities in Nigeria.
