Children may be young, but their courage and creativity can make a lasting impact. Kokouvi Agbo from Togo is a perfect example of a child whose actions changed lives around him. Growing up in a small village, Kokouvi noticed that many children in his community could not attend school because they lacked basic supplies and faced long walks to unsafe roads.
Instead of accepting this as normal, Kokouvi decided to act. At just 11 years old, he began organizing small community projects to help children access education.
He collected used books and stationery from neighbors and local markets and set up a mini-library in his home. He also persuaded local volunteers to help walk younger children safely to nearby schools.
Kokouvi’s efforts quickly gained attention. Local media covered his story, and international organizations took notice. With support, he expanded his initiative to provide more children with books, school uniforms, and learning materials.
The number of children attending school in his village rose significantly, and families who had once struggled to send their children to class felt hope for the first time in years.
What makes Kokouvi’s story extraordinary is that it proves age is not a barrier to change. His courage and determination inspired other children in Togo and across Africa to find solutions to problems in their communities. Kokouvi reminds the world that every child has the power to make a difference, no matter how young they are.
