Afghan Children Left in Crisis After Deadly Earthquake

A devastating earthquake of 6.0 magnitude struck eastern Afghanistan this week, wiping out entire mountain villages and crushing the already fragile lives of thousands, especially children, who were battling with worsening humanitarian needs and shrinking aid.

The quake, which hit hardest in Kunar and Nangarhar provinces, has claimed over 1,400 lives so far, with the death toll expected to rise as powerful after maths continue.

Thousands more are injured, while whole villages have been reduced to bottom in remote mountain areas where blocked roads make rescue operations nearly impossible in the area.

Emergency teams, including Save the Children’s mobile health workers, are fighting to reach survivors in desperate need of help.
