Authorities have confirmed that professional wrestling icon Hulk Hogan died following a heart attack.
The official cause of death is listed as “acute myocardial infarction” (a medical term for a heart attack), according to a cremation approval summary from the Pinellas County, Florida medical examiner’s office, shared with CNN on Thursday.
The report also noted that Hogan, whose real name was Terry Gene Bollea, had a history of an irregular heartbeat and blood cancer, both of which were contributing factors in his passing. His death was ruled “natural.”
The medical examiner’s office stated in an email to CNN that no autopsy or physical examination was carried out, with Hogan’s death instead certified by his primary care physician.
