China Hosts Global Leaders for Military Parade Showcasing Power and Alliance-Building

Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has landed in Beijing to join fellow world leaders, including Russia’s Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, for a high profile military parade.

Running alongside the event is a parallel summit of a lesser known but influential alliance, highlighting China’s ambitions to shape a new global order and challenge Western dominance through both military strength and diplomatic ties.

The series of events began with Mnangagwa’s arrival in Beijing on Monday, ahead of the parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two.

More than two dozen heads of state are expected on Wednesday as China stages a powerful display of its military capabilities.

The parade will showcase over 100 aircraft, as well as state of the art tanks and missiles, all domestically manufactured, underlining China’s self reliance and its growing sophistication in defense technology.
