Global Faith Leaders Unite to Protect Children’s Dignity

A new Interfaith Dialogues Series is being launched by Religions for Peace, Arigatou International, and the World Council of Churches, bringing together religious leaders and faith communities to reflect on how to strengthen children’s wellbeing and uphold their dignity through open dialogue, shared experiences, and coordinated action.

The series will run from November 2025 to November 2026, creating a long-term platform for reflection, meaningful conversations, continuous learning, and mutual support among leaders from various faith traditions.

The opening session is scheduled for 26 November and is expected to gather about 80 religious leaders. The goal is to encourage shared understanding and promote joint efforts to safeguard children’s dignity in the face of growing global challenges.

Ahead of this, on 19 November, a global online gathering titled “Keeping Faith in Children: Building Our Shared Humanity” will bring together children, community actors, and members of the World Day Planning Committee. The discussion will focus on how believing in children reflects belief in humanity, inspiring compassion, collective responsibility, and stronger bonds across generations.

On 20 November, an “Interfaith Service for Children” will offer a moment of prayer, meditation, and reflection for children affected by conflict. Religious leaders from different regions and traditions will participate, alongside children who will express their hopes, talents, and calls for peace.

A World Day Package called “Mobilizing Faith and Communities for Children’s Rights and Wellbeing” will also be made available.
