Iyanya Offers N500K to Nurse Mocked for Skipping Strike to Save Lives

Afrobeats star Iyanya has voiced his intention to reward a nurse who was mocked by her colleagues for showing up at work despite the ongoing national strike by the health workers’ union.

A video capturing the nurse being ridiculed quickly went viral, drawing sympathy from Iyanya, who pledged to gift her N500,000.

Iyanya praised the nurse’s dedication, saying her decision to report for duty showed true commitment to saving lives and highlighted her role as an essential worker.

He wrote: “Can someone find her for me, I want to give her 500k. She is not a health care worker for the money but for human lives. Someone find her for me please.”

When some critics questioned his gesture, calling her actions “bad behavior,” Iyanya stood firm, arguing that her devotion to duty deserved recognition and reward.

He emphasized that the mockery she endured was uncalled for, and urged the public to help him locate the nurse so he could fulfill his promise.

In response to a user who asked, “Why do some Nigerians love rewarding bad behavior???” Iyanya fired back: “What’s your definition of bad behavior? A nurse decided not to go on strike so she can save lives, being at work is bad behavior to you? She is an essential worker and she deserves some compensation, and the way she was humiliated was wrong. Find her for me, I have 500k for her immediately.”
