In preparation for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, Morocco has introduced a simplified electronic travel authorisation system (Autorisation Électronique de Voyage au Maroc, or AEVM) for selected African nationals.
The initiative is designed to make it easier for fans to cross borders and cheer on their teams throughout the tournament.
This new requirement applies to citizens of Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gabon, Niger, Senegal, Togo, and Tunisia, all countries that are usually visa exempt for Morocco. Eligible travelers can apply online through the YALLA app starting 25 September 2025.
Alongside the AEVM, the app will also provide integrated fan services, including the issuance of the mandatory FanID needed for entry into stadiums and fan zones.
For visitors from the same countries traveling to Morocco during the tournament for non-football purposes such as tourism, business, or family visits, a different procedure is in place. These travelers must submit their AEVM request at least 96 hours before departure via the official Access-Maroc.ma portal, not the YALLA app.
Certain categories are exempt from this requirement: holders of diplomatic, service, special or official passports, legal residents with valid Moroccan residency permits, transit passengers who remain within international airport zones, citizens of the eight listed countries who are married to Moroccans (with proof), and individuals aged over 55.
