Naira Marley Speaks Out, Says His Detention Over Mohbad’s Death Was Unfair

Singer Naira Marley has challenged the reasons behind his detention by the police, stressing that he was not even in Nigeria at the time of Mohbad’s death.

He questioned why attention was shifted to him instead of those who were physically present with the late singer in the days of his passing.

Marley noted that he returned to Nigeria to assist investigators and also to clear his name, yet ended up being detained for two months, causing his passport to be seized, despite cooperating fully with authorities.

Describing the extended detention as baseless, he argued that it caused serious concerns about justice, fairness, and the efficiency of the system.
