Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has backed Kelechi Iheanacho to “make a big contribution” after sealing the Nigeria striker’s signing just before the Europa League registration deadline.
The 28 year old Super Eagles forward joins the Scottish champions on a one-year deal, only a day after mutually ending his contract with Sevilla.
His arrival comes on the heels of criticism from fans who were frustrated by the club’s failure to bring in a striker on transfer deadline day.
Rodgers has now turned to a familiar face, having previously managed Iheanacho during his seven year spell at Leicester City.
