Sudan’s Cholera Crisis Escalates Amid Relentless War

A worsening health disaster is happening in Sudan, where the Ministry of Health has confirmed 1,575 new cholera cases and 22 deaths in the past week alone. This situation pushes the total number of infections past 101,000, with 2,515 people dead since the outbreak was declared in August 2024.

The epidemic has now reached all 18 states, marking a wide spread in a country already affected by conflict.

Since April 2023, Sudan has been suffering from brutal fighting between the Sudanese military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

United Nations figures showed that more than 20,000 lives have been lost, while over 14 million people have ran from their homes due to this situation.
