The United Nations has raised alarm that life saving humanitarian assistance for more than 500,000 refugees in Cameroon could be suspended.
Without urgent emergency funding, the suspension of aid is expected to take effect by the end of August.
The UN’s World Food Programme, which currently provides food to 523,000 people, has already been forced to cut back on essential operations.
At the Gado refugee camp, families are now receiving only half of their required daily food rations, the agency confirmed in a statement.
The worsening crisis is pushing displaced families into desperate measures, including skipping meals or selling off the few belongings they still have.
