In Savona, children were required to remain in school on Wednesday due to severe flooding triggered by heavy rains. Streets and basements in the towns of Calice Ligure and Celle Ligure experienced significant flooding.

Celle's mayor, Marco Beltrame, responding to a yellow alert for storms, urged that children be kept on the first floor of their schools until further notice. He emphasized the seriousness of the situation, noting that the Ghiare torrent was on pre-alert status and a substantial landslide had occurred on the Aurelia highway in Celle, prompting action from the roads authority.

The mayor also issued an ordinance suspending all school activities for Thursday.
