Aperin Oniyere Grammar School in Ibadan, Oyo State, recently received a generous donation of assistive educational devices for visually impaired students from Dufil Prima Foods. The company’s contribution is part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, aimed at promoting inclusive education for students with special needs.
The donation, which included Braille machines, typewriters, digital recorders, and mobility canes, was presented by Temitope Ashiwaju, the Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager of Dufil Prima Foods. The devices were received by the school’s principal, Olusegun Oregbesan, along with other senior staff members and the Chairman of the Nigeria Association of the Blind, Oyo State chapter.
Dufil Prima Foods also took on the responsibility of covering the WAEC fees for SS3 students, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder their academic progress. Ashiwaju highlighted the company's commitment to supporting students with disabilities, stating that their goal is to provide these students with the resources they need to succeed.
The principal, Olusegun Oregbesan, expressed his gratitude, noting how the company’s support has energized the school to continue its efforts in providing for the students. The initiative was also praised by Olufemi Ojeniyi, who acknowledged the positive impact the donation will have on the students' education and future prospects.
After the presentation, Dufil Prima Foods brought joy to the school community by serving freshly prepared meals, creating a memorable and uplifting experience for all.
