NewGlobe Nigeria, a global leader in education solutions, will participate in the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) 2024 international conference on girl-child education, taking place on October 10-11 at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The conference, themed “Girl Child Empowerment through Quality Education,” aligns with the United Nations General Assembly’s resolution establishing the International Day of the Girl Child and will gather policymakers, educators, and thought leaders to address the challenges and opportunities in promoting girl-child education in Nigeria.

The summit will introduce the Girl Child Education Volunteers’ Advocates (GICEVA) initiative, aimed at mobilizing volunteers to advocate for girl-child education across the country. Additionally, the event will unveil the Face of the Girl Child Ambassadors, who will represent the commitment to girl-child education among National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

As a resource partner for education, NewGlobe will engage in plenary sessions focusing on strategies to enhance girl-child education. The organization is dedicated to transforming public education systems through innovative approaches that ensure inclusivity, equity, and transformative learning experiences.

NewGlobe employs a combination of technology, data-driven training, and scientifically-backed learning materials to significantly improve educational outcomes at scale. Their holistic methodology has demonstrated success in enhancing learning across diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, contributing to economic growth and equity.

Currently collaborating with four state governments in Nigeria on educational transformation projects, NewGlobe aims to provide improved learning opportunities for every child nationwide. A study by Harvard professor Michael Kremer found that the application of NewGlobe's methods leads to substantial learning gains, particularly for girls, despite existing cultural and economic barriers.

The Girl Child Education Summit serves as a vital platform to discuss the various challenges girls face in accessing quality education, including social, economic, and infrastructural issues. NewGlobe’s participation highlights the importance of equitable access to education as a means to create opportunities for girls and advance Nigeria's educational goals.

By harnessing innovation, data, and technology, NewGlobe remains committed to narrowing the gender gap in education and supporting Nigeria’s aspirations for sustainable development.
