Prof. Musahara Herman, an expert and professor of economics at the University of Rwanda, passed away due to illness.
He died after going to India to pray, but after leaving he lost his physical strength, which eventually led to his death. It's a news release on November 20, 2024. Dr. Joseph Nkurunziza, Director of the College of Economics at the University of Rwanda, where the deceased worked, told The University Star newspaper of the University of Rwanda, that they are deeply saddened by the death of Prof.
He is not paid and his family is worried. He said, “We have heard the news of his death, and our condolences to his family. We are here to escort him in honor.”
He went on to say that as a College of Economics, they appreciate the dedication and commitment that characterized the life of Prof. Musahara was the way he always fought for the development of knowledge and economy. Dr. Jean Bosco Shema, Head of UR, Huye Department, told IGIHE that as a University they have lost an important person, they wish him to rest in peace.
He said, "In life, we accept everything." It is sad news for us, but we pray to God for him to rest in peace.''
Regarding the schools he attended, Prof. Musahara holds a PhD in Development Studies from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa, where he is currently an Associate Professor.
He first studied at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, where he graduated with a third degree in economics, after completing the second degree at the University of Rwanda (UNR) in the Department of Economics.
Prof. Musahara started teaching at the University of Rwanda in 1997, known as the National University of Rwanda (UNR), where he worked in the Department of Economics until.
In 2014 he headed the School of Economics at UR. Prof. Musahara became an important researcher in the international research institute (Organization for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa) based in Ethiopia, the work he was praised for doing well.
Prof. Musahara was born in 1955 and passed away at the age of 69, leaving behind six children and a wife.
