Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on leaders and stakeholders to prioritize the education of girls, urging them to break down gender-based barriers that have long hindered their access to quality education.
Speaking at the International Conference on Girl Child Education in Nigeria, Shettima highlighted the critical role of education in empowering girls and stressed the need for collaboration among government bodies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and civil society organizations. He emphasized that efforts to create safe educational environments must begin within local communities.
Shettima also underscored the importance of educating girls about their rights, particularly in health-related matters, and called on international partners to help make a generational impact. He warned that the consequences of neglecting the education of girls could be severe, noting that the future of the nation depends on ensuring that every child, regardless of gender, has access to education.
